Came here for dinner on sunday night. They have this economic meal that you can choose 3 dishes from their menu for $16.50 (used to be $14.50 when I started eating here). If seafood item, needs to add $1.00 each, after 3 dishes, it will be $5.50 for each additional dish, this economic meal served all day 7 days. They also have lunch special served 7 days from 11am to 3 pm, prices run from $4.50 to $6.50.
There are 108 dishes you can choose from their menu to create your own economic meal.
I asked the lady that waited our table, she said it was really slow these days! I think many people really are suffering this bad economy situation. But am wondering why their increased their price!!
Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup 洋蔘竹笙雞湯 ($1.00)
By ordering their Economic meal, you can get this chinese herbal chicken soup for 1 buck but it's for dine-in only! You can also choose Bitter Melon Pork Ribs Soup. This soup was very hot and tasted. I loved it a lot.
Steam Rice ($0.60 per person)
They charge $0.60 per person for steam rice. We had 2 people but they gave us this couldn't closed-lid big pot of rice. I got left over that can have lunch for next day.

Dry Shrimp w/Chinese Squash 開陽絲瓜
Don't know why but always have to at least order one veggie dish when eating chinese food. I love this dish from May's Kitchen. It's light, even though as my understanding, they have to kind of deep fried chinese squash to hold it's shape and keep it green and fresh? So this when this dish comes out, the squash always tastes kind of hard first but after awhile, it will become soft and will release some its own juice and then sucks its juice back. It's very appetizing and you can taste the dry shrimp flavor in this dish.
Spare Ribs in Shanghai Style 上海小排骨
Ever since I had spare ribs in shanghai style forgot from where. I totally felt in love with this dish since! The sauce is in sweet side and the spare ribs can be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside if chef knows how to prepare this dish right! Sometimes in some place, you can tell the spare ribs are deep fried for too long and it just tasted dry and hard or sometimes there's no meat at all just bones. This item can show some chef's skills! I'll say it's not bad here and give it a fair evaluation here.
3 Flavors Chicken 三杯雞
I have also seen other places named it 3-cups-chicken. In May's Kitchen, they named it Chicken w/Sesame Oil & Bean Sauce.
For me, I still like to call this 3 flavors chicken since the original recipe has 3 main ingredients: sesame oil, soy sauce and rice wine.
And who can resist this dish if from Taiwan and saw the item on the menu :)-
It's almost a must order dish in this place and in the most place that serves this dish! The sauce is very good with rice and the chicken is tender. The chinese basil also gives this dish a unique flavor. What should I say more!!!!
The price for 3 dishes combo is not the best in LA area since there are many cheaper ones in Monterey Park/Roland Height sides but in my area, it's not a bad choice if don't really want to drive all the way over East side!
Youre photos make me hungry =p
