5 courses dinner meal for $19.95 until the end of March, 2009 and please make sure check out 3/29/09 Shojin's first anniversary party "Matsur", it will be $20.00 per person all you can eat vegan sushi bar, buffet & live music!

I found this place online and all the reviews seem all good about this place, plus, they are celebrating their first anniversary, by the end of March, 2009, they are offering 5 courses dinner including appetizer, soup, salad, entree and desserts for only 19.95 and it's available every night of March, 2009. It seems a very good deal and I just happened to have friends that they are either big fan of organic vegetarian food or a completely vegetarian, once I told them about this place, we are set to go!

The place is nice and can be quiet romantic if you want your date to be, nice and neat!

My dear lady friend Lynn and her friend Greg, Lynn loves organic food and she can cook, damn good cook in fact. Greg is a completely vegetarian for like almost his entire life? He also knows and loves gourmet and organic food. What the best company I can ask for to come here with me!!

Fresh Iced Mint Tea ($2.95)

we all got this iced mint tea, it's refreshing, but for me, it's not minty enough, it's good though for the hot night!

Pumpkin Croquette ($4.95)

This is not including in the 5 courses dinner meal.
mashed pumpkin mixed with tofu and seasoning. It was so creamy and delicious. The sauce was perfect and so good together with this dish. Greg wanted to lick the plate just for that sauce, it's that good :)-

Caterpillar Roll ($8.75)

This is not including in the 5 courses dinner meal either. We ordered one to roll, half roll is $5.00. BBQ seitan, sesame, avocado, shojin special sauce. Our waiter told us it's well dressing, really don't need any soy sauce or anything, and it really did! We were all wondering how brown rice would taste like when be made into sushi and guess what!! We all agree it was super good, probably best non-sashimi sushi roll we ever had. It's just out of this world!

Fried Garden Seitan Ball ($6.95)

Deep fried vegetable seitan served with home made tomato sauce. This is our first dish from the courses as appetizer. $6.95 is regular price and will come with 4 pcs! The sauce is the same one as for pumpkin croquette, it just so good. The organic seitan actually tasted meaty! we all liked it a lot!
Kabocha Pumpkin Chowder ($4.95)

Creamy and delicate pumpkin soup made with pumpkin topped with roasted pumpkin seeds. Our 2nd dish. This soup is hot which I always like my soup to be as hot as possible. It is creamy because they pureed the pumpkin and the roasted pumpkin seeds on top just give it a actual flavor of pumpkin. We also all liked this dish a lot!
Mixed Spring Salad ($4.25)

Organic mixed greens served with home made thousand island dressing. This is our 3rd dish. The organic mixed greens were so fresh and the mozzarella tofu cubes just so amazingly good. The home made thousand island dressing made Greg wanted to lick the dish again :)
Mushroom Spaghetti ($12.95)

This is our main dish entree. Sauteed mushrooms with soy-scallion sauce, radish sprouts, shiso leaves and noni. Sauteed mushrooms were so meaty, it makes us forgot we actually were having vegetarian meal. The portion is very good and perfect, will just leave some room for desert!

Chef's Choice of Deserts

Finally, our last dish desert came to our table and once it landed on the table, we all WOW for it. there were a scoop of vanilla ice cream, apple cake (the brown one) and a slice of Green Tea Moss Cake with Sweet Azuki beans. We all think only this desert along could be worth 10 bucks and the presentation was so pretty. This really ended up our meal perfect.
What a bargain for 3 people!!

Good meals, good friends, wonderful night!
The lady staff, our waiter Ken and the Chef Tsugu Morishima
Our waiter Ken was very friendly, very knowledgeable, very humble yet educated us a lot about their food, about vegan, about Japanese style vegetarian food/cuisine. Also, Ken was kind enough introduced us to the Chef Tsugu Morishima who is the man behind all these wonderful dishes! They've been opening about a year and you can actually find tons of nothing but good/great/wonderful review for this place such like Yelp, Zagat, and of course, my blog :)-Thank you Ken and Chef Tsugu Morishima, we really had a wonderful time in your restaurant.
